The author has announced that, because of the huge popularity of Lemonade Mouth (Movie), he has decided to write a sequel. On the same day the Lemonade Mouth cast announced that there'll be a second movie (June 10) but it never happened, Hughes kept his promise and read the first chapter of the sequel on Lemonade Mouth's official website[1]. On October 21, 2011, he updated his website stating: "Sent the completed manuscript of Lemonade Mouth 2 (Lemonade Mouth Puckers Up) to my editor today. Celebration time!"
International release of "Lemonade Mouth Puckers Up" will commence on November 13th 2012.

Some members of the Lemonade Mouth cast have just announced that they are currently recording a song to be released on the same day as the book. Adam Hicks (Wen), Naomi Scott (Mo), Hayley Kiyoko (Stella) and Chris Brochu (Ray) will all feature in it. On Friday 26th October 2012, Chris Brochu tweeted this: "So here are the answers to your questions. Is there a Lemonade Mouth 2 movie? Nopeeeee. Is there a book by the name of Lemonade Mouth Puckers Up? HECKKKK YEAHHHHH. It comes out on November 13th. Did Adam, Nay, Hayley and myself just record a track to be released the same day the book comes out? You better believe we did. Is this song gonna make people want to start a revolution? Yup... and probably dance just a little as well ;)"
